Our Team

The initiator of the project and responsible for the ONE SKY academy | accademia UN CIELO is Frank Alva Buecheler, who has international experience in financing and developing major cultural projects. He built and managed the Theater im Hafen in Hamburg and the Musicaltheater Bremen. The prolific entrepreneur is equally at home in the visual and performing arts - as a theater director, author and curator - and has been a sought-after university lecturer in the fields of aesthetics, staging, art market and cultural management for decades. Since 2014, Buecheler's commitment has focused on the topics of flight, migration and international understanding - he founded the non-profit organization FREEARTUS artists + refugees united for freedom and the cultural forum LAWRENCE in Berlin Mitte, initiated various projects in Lebanon, Syria and Egypt, among others. From this, Buecheler developed the concept for the ONE SKY academy | accademia UN CIELO, which he now heads as Presidente dell'Accademia. Together with his family, he has moved his main residence to Piazza Armerina.

Alongside Will Humburg, Danila Mancuso has taken on a leading role in the field of performative and visual arts at the ONE SKY academy. Born in Piazza Armerina, Mancuso initially studied in Milan, but returned to her home town with her family out of love for her homeland, which has since been the starting point for her international projects as a painter and media artist.
In addition to her work as a secondary school teacher, she completed her art studies with distinction and
a diploma in teaching methods for the disabled.
In 2019, she was awarded the Culture and Identity Prize for Visual Arts by the Culture and Identity Festival in La Spezia. She is also featured in the Art Now catalog dedicated to the valorization of artistic heritage and identity.
Danila Mancuso was also honored with the Premio Pitturiamo in New York in 2019. She has held solo exhibitions in Malta, Paris, Barcelona, London and Venice, as well as repeatedly in Sicily, for example in Siracusa. In Piazza Armerina, works by Danila Mancuso have been on display at Palazzo Trigona and a permanent exhibition of important works has been open to the public at the Wine Art Bar gallery since 2019.
Danila Mancuso is very interested in the broad impact of her work and she even took part in three episodes of a Discovery Chanel show program.
